Autumn races

A fan of running, are you wondering which race to do at the end of the year? Here are some races that might be interesting to try. There is something for everyone, from 5km to marathon, in many major cities. If you want to run for a good cause, you will find your happiness 😊 with some charity races.

The race not to be missed in September

It’s a classic, with the famous Paris-Versailles race which will take place on September 25. It is 16 km long. It starts at the foot of the Eiffel Tower and goes to the Palace of Versailles.

Challenging races in October leading up to the marathon

No introduction needed for the legendary 20 km of Paris, my first race in 2018 and one of the toughest because in full sun despite the season, it’s unforgiving. I thought about quitting, but I managed to finish 💪 It will take place on October 9.

The Run in Lyon is one of the must-do races in the capital of Gaul. This race, like the Paris half marathon, is organized by Harmonie Mutuelle. It will take place on October 2 with different courses including a 5 km solidarity run, a 10 km, a half marathon, and the marathon.

You’ve understood the concept of the “Run In”, a running festival held in the most beautiful cities of France. Run in Lyon is also available as Run in Reims which will take place on October 16. Different courses on the program, a 10 km, a half marathon, and the marathon.

During the Pink October campaign, several races will take place to raise awareness in the fight against breast cancer. The Odysséa race in Paris, starting at the Château de Vincennes, allows walking or running from 5 to 10 km. It will take place on October 1 and 2.

In another vein, the Marathon des Grands Crus will take place in Dijon on October 9 with different courses, 10, 21 or 42 km.

If you want to run and do a good deed for the planet, I am organizing a plogging event in Marseille on Sunday, October 9. Plogging is a concept that allows you to run while picking up litter. To participate in this race, here is the registration link.

On October 23, it’s an opportunity to come and try the Rennes marathon, a green marathon. 1 km run = 1 tree planted with the Yves Rocher Foundation.

Charity races in November

The Race of Lights is a charity race whose goal is to light up the night for patients and highlight this cause to fund research. Partners include Institut Curie, Alzheimer Research Foundation. It takes place on November 19 in Paris, but there is also the possibility to start the race from many cities including Bordeaux and Toulouse on November 26, Lyon on December 3, Marseille on December 10.

The Figaro Cross is a race created in 1961. Since 2016, part of the registration fees has been donated to the Telethon. It takes place on November 27. You can run for the Telethon with different courses of 5, 10, 15 and 20 km. For the bravest, the organization hosts La Figaro Night, a night race which will take place on November 25.

Running in December

The Issy les Moulineaux Christmas race is the must-attend event in December in Hauts-de-Seine. I remember when I was little and lived in Issy les Moulineaux, I saw thousands of people dressed as Santa Claus taking part in a race. I didn’t quite understand the enthusiasm, that was before I discovered my first races 😉 The Corrida takes place on December 11. It is a short format with courses of 5 and 10 km. Children also have the possibility to run on shorter courses between 1.5 and 3 km.

I’m sure there is a race that will interest you this autumn 🏃
