MISOOL: our story for sustainable running clothes
The creation of MISOOL, the troubling observation of a passionate runner
My name is Vincent. Passionate about running – road, trail, ultra – I was long frustrated to run with clothes that respected neither my body nor the planet. Offshored production, lack of transparency, questionable social conditions…
This observation pushed me to take action.
MISOOL was born in 2022, with a clear ambition: to create durable, high-performance running clothes that are 100% European.
MISOOL, a brand of durable, lightweight, and high-performance running clothes
With MISOOL, I wanted to create running clothes that I couldn't find elsewhere:
- ultra-lightweight;
- durable over time;
- without chafing or irritation;
- practical for all outings, from basic endurance to marathon;
- made locally, with trusted partners.
For me, it was clear: I would make no compromises.
100% European running clothes: a French fabric, Portuguese know-how
The very first prototype? A fabric made from algae… a disaster. Heavy, not breathable, anything but suitable.
Then, after many trials, I found a gem:
- an ultra-light fabric (54 g/m2);
- produced in the South of France;
- resistant to washing, twisting, and time.
For the manufacturing, I found a workshop in Portugal. A partner who shares our values, capable of meeting our technical requirements:
- flat seams;
- printed labels;
- flawless finishes.
A French fabric, a Portuguese workshop, the perfect combination!
MISOOL is 100% European running clothes, traceable and ethical.
Sportswear, developed by runners for runners
I was not alone. I spoke with more than 300 runners, gathered their frustrations, their expectations. What emerged:
- irritations on long distances;
- shorts without pockets or with poorly designed pockets;
- materials that deform and seams that come apart after only a few washes;
- heavy fabrics that stick to the skin and limit freedom of movement.
I then set out to design the perfect running t-shirt and shorts.
After nearly 9 prototypes, the ambassadors' opinions were unanimous. The result?
- a running t-shirt that weighs only 54 grams – one of the lightest in the world – while remaining incredibly durable and resistant;
- ultra-light running shorts, comfortable, with pockets to carry keys, gels, and other supplies;
- flat seams and printed labels to avoid chafing;
- total freedom of movement.
A complete running outfit, light, high-performance, European-made, that perfectly wicks sweat, dries quickly, and supports you mile after mile.
The origin of the name MISOOL
MISOOL is an island in Indonesia, known for its exceptional biodiversity and rapid regeneration thanks to the mobilization of local communities. A strong symbol. A message of hope: change is possible, as long as we take concrete action.
This is the philosophy that guides the brand: every step, every garment, every choice can have an impact.
